MacDuffs Wild Rose Country  ...  This was my first rodeo with Wild Rose Country.  The puck is on the soft side, so I scraped and bloomed a gram and a half of soap and bowl lathered.  What resulted was a glorious bowl full of very slick, protective lather.   OTOH, the scent was pleasant but mild, and the post was good, but not great - and great is what I have come to expect from MacDuffs.  But I think of these as 1st world shaver problems, and like I said, this was my first rodeo with the Wild Rose.  Maybe next time will be better.

Thanks HS - I have been eye-ballin' that Rose for awhile. Does it have other green bis or grandma in it?  I am looking for a Kissin' cousin of the ole AOS cream. Nothing but SC comes remotely close. Thx in advance for your thoughts.

You may have come to the wrong nose Tommy, but I always like to help a brother out, and I'll do my best.

To me, this is a clean, masculine take on rose, and I actually love the scent off the clean, dry puck.  I can sit at my desk and sniff blissfully away.  My beef is that the scent was disappointingly weak on the brush.  To be fair, the weak scent may have been due to me starting with too much bloom water.  I plan to use less bloom water and more soap for my next outing with WRC, and that will hopefully improve the scent on the brush.

All that said, let me take a shot at answering your specific Qs:  Definitely no grandma.  I'm not sure I understand what "green bis" means, but I don't get floral.  I don't get earthy either, except maybe a subtle vibe reminiscent of a clean vetiver, something vaguely like Vetivert perhaps.  As for AOS, my jar has be dry for years, so I'll have to pass on that one.  I encourage anyone interested to read what Sean of MacDuffs says about the scent.  It is actually a pretty detailed write up.

I hope that helps my friend.
PERFECT explanation/description.

Sorry for the confusion on my typos. . You translated correctly - green bits.

My issue with 90% of the Rose puxs available is they have to much noise in them, often synthetics. Results are disastrous, leading men to think of grandma and a ladies bed bath& beyond soap.

I will buy that dried up AOS jar from you. Seriously.

Thanks HS.
