DanLaw, I’m sorry to hear that you’re getting such rough shaves with those Feather Professional Artist Club blades. They certainly have a different feel from your ordinary double-edged blade. They are so thick they turn the Vector into a scalpel. When I shave with them, I approach the situation not as an act of grooming, but rather as something akin to brain surgery. If I lose my concentration, I’m sure to do some lasting damage. So I focus on maintaining a very light touch, and I try to keep the edge of the blade almost parallel to my skin. One pass, with the grain, is enough. When I get it right, I get a fantastic close shave. But when I let my thoughts wander, I come away with a sore face that lasts the rest of the day.

FaceScraper, it won't be long now! Is that a Simpson Trafalgar T2 that's doing the damage?

I’m really digging the scent and performance of Caties Irish Coffee.  Might stay with it for a few days.

Good eye, Bouki  This is the slightly larger brother, the T3. I like this brush, but I don't. I tend to like knots that don't have as much backbone. As a face latherer, this knot is harder to splay. On the other hand, it's very easy to load soap, and it does make a great lather in a jiffy.

If you haven't already, try the Kai ProTouch MG guarded blades in the Vector. They still cut just as well, but turn the Vector into an easy daily driver. I can whip the Vector around quickly and mindlessly with the MGs. The only other AC blades I have are the Feather Super Professional. With those, a little more attention is needed.
