Mandarino Fumo (Ethos) orange cigarillos
Shave 10 ・ 132 g left

Watching this scent evolve has been fun. It's mellowed over time, revealing subtle nuances. Notably, a minty note has become more pronounced with each use. I like that, as it prevents Mandarino Fumo from becoming excessively heavy. Without it, the fragrance could sink into a deep abyss of dark tobacco and leather essences. The initial strong mandarin note has now darkened, merging with labdanum and castoreum. Personally, I’m content with this change, as I’m not fond of orange scents. However, I remain puzzled by the “fumo” in the soap’s name. I haven’t detected any smokiness so far.

Hi Bouki

I’m glad your enjoying the process of natural Essential oils and absolutes aging which is what they do. To answer one question about the Fumo in the name it is referring to the Tobacco Absolutes which if they were still leaf’s, dried and smoked is were the smoke in the name comes from. There are Aroma Chemicals that simulate actual smoke. An I’ve had my nose on several different ones. Some smell like pipe tobacco, others like smoke from a campfire as two familiar examples. As you probably know I’m not a huge fan of synthetic scents but sometimes there is no other option like the Leather note in the Mandarino Fumo as there is no such thing as a Leather Essential Oil or any other natural aromatics I’m aware of. I’ve been playing with the Aroma blend and I’ll be tweaking it a bit as my template shave soap like yours has aged and I know where I’d like to make some changes. I will say Tobacco Absolutes and there are two in that Aroma Blend, a Burley and a Virginia they are very powerful when smelled right from the bottle but to me are dark, rich and somewhat syrupy. Love them both.

Did a video with the new camera this morning and an external Mic that ended up giving near zero volume. Uploading to see if fixable but feeling it's gonna be DOA. This is why I hate technology. May do next video without the external mic and the volume will be what it will be. SMH......Everyone have a great day !

Spent the last several days with a tin of Mikes Naturals Vetiver and brother what a difference.  Where I was having decreased slickness in the Orange Cedar, Black Pepper, this Vetiver, although also ancient, is still as slick as the day I popped the tin open.  Why the difference?  I have zero ideas but it’s pretty certain I’ll have an odd shaped bath bar that smells awesome.

But I’m sort f tired of Mikes so this morning I picked Caties Bubbles Irish Coffee and for the life of me I can’t figure out why more pictures of Caties doesn’t show up here.  It performs very similar to MdC and the scents are just terrific.  And that Futur razor never fails to give a close and smooth shave.
