After watching TommyCarioca ALWAYS RAVING about this being his #1 reach for soap, I was glad to get Mo's email today about the surprise drop of some of these and happy about getting to nab one before they sold out !!

Haha! I'm delighted you got L'avventura. It's the 2nd best-selling scent after Laundry II.

Oh brother it’s been a minute since I posted. Please don’t think I don’t love you all.  I do. Just not as much as eating. (Work has been nuts) And family. (Niece with cancer……again). And equipment upkeep. (Son asked me to help refurbish his shop) And……. Holy Hannah, I even swore I’d not redo another trailer but here I am redoing another trailer.  My mom told me I was dumber than 1000 sheep and I’m proving her right.  So when someone tries to tell you how glorious it’ll be as an empty nester they aren’t lying, they just didn’t explain that the glory doesn’t come from an abundance of free time and a straight eight at night.  It’s from service to those you love.  That said, I don’t have a beard because I’m shaving daily, just not reporting in.  Interesting note: a while back I visited a can of Mikes Orange, Cedar, and Black Pepper and was surprised at the lack of slickness.  Mikes has always been easy.  Shoot this tin has always treated me right.  I sure don’t believe I’ve forgotten how to build lather!  So I’ve spent about the last ten days with this tin only.  It is old.  Craft-paper label old.  But although it’s slick enough for a comfortable shave it sure isn’t slick like I get with other Mikes.  I put a thumb to it and it’s hard like a triple milled, so, I loaded it like one. I’ve left water sitting in it to be absorbed and it did drink. I’ve used more soap and less water and synthetic and boar and badger and although I can increase slickness it’s still not “Mikes”. So I’m assuming this one will be a shower bar and I’ll move on.  Love the scent but …….  Anyone else faced this issue?

I'm very sorry about your niece Matt.  That aside, it is always nice to hear stories about men who go hard extra miles for their family.  Kudos to you, and good luck

About Mike's:  You might try beginning with ETHOS First Lather.  I don't believe First Lather will fully bring back the Mike's you knew and loved - so far as I know, it won't bring back the scent or remediate shelf life decompositions - but if it's slickness you want, IME First Lather will fix you up just fine.   (Plus it's priced right, and it's easy to use.)

Mike's Natural Soaps - Bay Rum

Lip, sorry to hear of the various troubles. For the minor one, the Mike's, I've not had that issue with any of mine yet. But they aren't as old as yours is. I hope your issue is resolved and/or a one-off... I have backups of mine!!!
Definitely was going to say that my pucks are all as hard as a milled soap and that I try to keep a mental note to load it as such. Worked great for me today.
