Grooming Dept’s oudy fragrances are interesting, but it’s the lather itself that keeps me coming back to these soaps. I figure it takes only fifty swirls to load enough soap for three, maybe four passes. It drinks like a dog in August, and goes on low and close. What’s most interesting, though, is how hard it is to wash off. That’s a good thing. I makes an oily layer right next to the skin that gives me all kinds of protection. I can take three passes without doing any harm, and my hide stays plump all day. This Kairos base is quickly becoming my favorite.

Well this came full circle... I bought a bunch of these before they went out of stock about 9 years ago (... and, no exaggerating, I'm one of the reasons they went out of stock haha... ask Damon from Old Town Shaving in Pasadena, now retired).
Eventually, though, I tired of the scent and sold all of them. Before that, though, I gave one as a gift to my Dad. But, he's a 3017 kind of guy, and has a few different homes he spends time at.
In the past couple months, I've wanted to find one of these again out in the wild, and voila... This tub was at a home he rarely has been at for the past few years. So I found this in a drawer when I was there last week, 100% unused.
Scent as strong as ever, with staying power... Can smell it after taking shower after shaving, like it lingers inside the sinuses. I hardly used any cream, too. Super easy shave. Super soft skin. Remember why I fell in love originally. But you'd better like the scent because she's a Stage 5 clinger!
