Sa°Tabac °urday

Oops! I had to eschew the magic Tabac for a spin with Arlington. 90 here in KY - this was the right ticket to punch. Lip is right, these hard, triple milled DRH soaps are very luxurious.

Beaudelaire (Barrister & Mann) licorice fougère
Shave 9 ・ 171 g left

I’ve mashed together two tubs of Beaudelaire. One dates from 2017. I believe it’s the Glissant base. The other, from a few years later, is Excelsior. Both bases make excellent lathers. In fact, it’s hard for me to tell them apart. Both come out as thick and slick as snail snot. And the scent – that fantastic spiced fougère – is probably the finest thing Will has ever made. Which makes me wonder why he doesn’t include this soap in his regular lineup.

I’m spending 2 months in France and as usual when traveling I just bring one soap.
My choice for this sojourn is a custom order Ethos Shave Stick in Colonia…my favorite scent!
Frank Dragonsbeard who knows my preference for tallow, informed me that this is the very first tallow-based shave stick he’s made.
And it is truly outstanding!
Slickness is off the charts. With the same excellent performance we’ve come to expect from Ethos soaps. Very easy to lather even in hard water too,
It also serves double duty as I use a very light coat of it as a pre shave…and rub it in with my fingers for a minute before I continue on to applying more soap and building a face lather.
Bottom line…Best shave stick I’ve ever used…nothing else even comes close…

Amazing. This pure Honeysuckle is perfection in a jar. Does it get any better than this in a shave soap? Thank you Frank.
