What soap/cream did you use today?

I’ll apologize right now for my unimaginative shave photos but we all know that’s not why you love me.  It’s my sweet dance moves isn’t it!  I’ve been a fan of the CK6 formula for a long while now and as a andalwood sucker this creamy dusty sandalwood scratches the itch.

Barrister and Mann - Terror (Soft Heart)

Always a great shave with the Soft Heart base. I wonder what was different between it and the regular Excelsior base... pretty sure the ingredients lists read identically. Maybe slightly different ratios, or even a slightly different process.

Anyways, I'm going to leave the lid off and see if the frankincense comes to the fore. Peppermint is strong on this.

Niiiiice color - one of the first stages to the making of detritus. Geo at work baby! An extrusive aphanitic volcanic rock - you can see few pocks from rapid escaping gasses as the lava cooked quickly. That would cut the skin pretty easily. Might make a nice preshave scrub

I almost used the AOS Rose today too.
We had some rain clouds today too... fall's a-coming.

Brought back memories of a geology class; thank you for that. Be weary of shelter under trees in open fields during electrical storms, as admonished in the song 'Pennies from Heaven': "...when you hear it thunder, don't run under a tree....".

Good advice Dan. The world is so upside down now I am daring bad things to happen. Hard to watch our country right now, so getting hit by lightning might be a quick way out.

I have been enjoying this jar of Gentlemen’s Nod this summer. Great scent and the base is the star here. Keep flooding it with water and one is rewarded handsomely. 

The summer sunsets are still going strong out here on the east end of Long Island but the nights are cooling a bit reminding us autumn is around the corner.

Le Tabac (Grooming Dept) humidor wood

Many thanks to everyone who helped me figure out this Kairos base. We’ve got an extraordinary crew here at DFS. Following your advice, I bloomed the puck and then loaded Le Tabac with a damp brush. I gave it about 150 swirls. This was followed by a palm lather, my usual technique, that involved a lot of agitation and the slow but steady addition of an enormous amount of water. Wow! What a difference a little patience and a lot of water makes. It took me about ten minutes to build, but today’s lather came out looking like an ice cream cone that’s been sitting in the sun. It was slick and delicious and gave me a marvelous shave. Oh happy day! Thanks FaceScraper and thanks HoosierShave.
