I have been enjoying this jar of Gentlemen’s Nod this summer. Great scent and the base is the star here. Keep flooding it with water and one is rewarded handsomely.

The summer sunsets are still going strong out here on the east end of Long Island but the nights are cooling a bit reminding us autumn is around the corner.

Bouki, I don't know if this will be helpful or not, but I typically bloom Grooming Dept soaps (I know Mo says not to, but I just find i get better results with GD soaps when I bloom them) and use a synthetic knot.  After loading for about 20 seconds, I face-paint for about 6 or 7 minutes...swirling often after the first 2 minutes and dipping the tips of the knot every 30 seconds or so.

What I have found with GD tallow soaps is that they are different than other tallows.  Even off the puck, there seems to be a slight film that is always present on the puck.  The lather doesn't seem to be as thick as other tallows no matter how long I face-lather or how much water I add (or don't add).  It's just a lather that is unique and unlike most of the other tallows i've used.  And please know, I'm not complaining or disparaging the soap or maker here, it is what it is and the soap/lather is just different.  Regardless of the lather quality, the scent is simply superb!
