Clay Face

Vetiver (Mike’s Natural Soaps) nutty vetiver
Shave 27 ・ 107 g left

I know it’s Bastille Day and I really should be shaving with something French, but I’m hung up on Mike’s natural soap. It’s just so good to my skin. And, on top of that, I went gaga when I saw HighSpeed’s kit yesterday. Three excellent interpretations of vetiver brought together in one shave. It was so inspiring, I had to follow suit.

Dave in KY, yesterday's Lime & Coconut was something I made at home by halving a puck of Lime and then a puck of Coconut, shuffling the halves, and repacking them into the tubs. So now I have two tubs of Lime & Coconut, and that's a good thing. They smell very nice. But I should note that the Lime is softer than the Coconut, so it's wearing away faster.

Just Here for the Shaves
Williamsburg, KY
Saturday July 15, 2023
Razor: Vector Ti
Blade: Proline
Brush: Spartan Custom/Cashmere
Soap: 345 Cairn
AS 1: Witch Hazel
AS 2: Ethos Fresh Lime
Fragrance: Tom Ford Grey Vetiver
Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 1,713

Had a sample of 345 Cairn and read the scent notes which are:

Scent notes: Bergamot, Lemon, Jasmine, Pineapple, Cedar, Ozone, Sandalwood. it's a clean, grassy aquatic!

It smelled fresh and clean and that's what I saw in the notes list basically. The lather whipped up quickly but didn't take much waterat all and was easily overwhelmed by the water in the synthetic brush to the point of serviceable but thin and slightly airy. As I lathered it I got this pnungent metallic smell and not in a plesant way. Relooked at the notes and saw ozone. Upon goolgling, I found the metallic note. Not a plesant scent to me but it may be my olfactory resptors and others may like it. Too many great soaps out there with water needs that match my lathering for me to go back to this company. Still a nice shave and hope all have a great day and weekend !
