Lemongrass & Eucalyptus (Mike’s Natural Soaps)
Shave 8 ・ 133 g remaining

This soap has reached the five-year mark. Initially it was overpowering and reminded me of the cleaning product used in our office. So I stored it away in a dark closet, only retrieving it once or twice a year to check if it had mellowed. Finally, it has matured, and today's shave was truly enjoyable. The blend of lemongrass and eucalyptus is refreshing, particularly on this warm summer day. Adding a quarter teaspoon of menthol powder enhances the experience significantly.

And I finished Theocritus's Idylls. It was a slim volume of only some two dozen short poems, but I really enjoyed spending a few balmy afternoons with the goatherds on their Mediterranean islands. Next item on the list of big reads is John Le Carré's The Honourable Schoolboy. This spy thriller is the sequel to his Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy

MacDuff's - Christmas Tree / Explorer Series

Well, this sure smells great. Considering the beautiful quality of the lather, it wasn't as comfortable of a shave as I was expecting. Not uncomfortable, just not senseless. The post is very nice so far. I also have the splash, which seems quite nice and moisturizing, but I definitely prefer alcohol in them... that's where the fun is for me post shave.

Yesterday's late afternoon shave:

For me, this is simply one of the greatest scents for a hot summer day.  And I have to agree with Lipripper660, Stirling soaps absolutely make it into my top-tier category
