It really that good?  Soap or cream?  Need give it a try
Yes, it really is that good.  It is a tallow cream with consistency somewhat softer than Castle Forbes or SMN, but harder than most creams.  I had no trouble scooping it with the pictured soft plastic makeup spoon, and no difficulty spreading it around my face.  Now, conclusions based on the first time use of most any piece of kit are best taken with a grain of salt.  That said, the scent was delightful and moderately strong, the lather built easily, the creme delivered a bloodless BBS, and my skin feels great.

If there is a downside to keep in mind, I think it would be that because this is a creme, it is not going to perform like the best hard soaps on the market.  But the better creams today can still deliver great shaves, and the softer ETHOS products have earned some recognition in that area, as evidenced in the recent/ongoing shaving cream thread.

I always surprise myself each time I get around to Tabac and I can’t figure why I’m not visiting it more often.  So manly. So easy. So slick.  Great presentation.  I’ve been using tabac for enough years now that it will always smell like “clean-shaven”.  Maybe that’s why it most often shows up,on a Sunday morning. I put on a suit coat every Sunday at 5:30am and trundle off to the University to spend the day with some super youth!  They deserve my best and that includes looking sharp.  Tabac never lets me down.  Lots of hobby folks swear it’s “grandpa” but shoot chip, I am a grandpa and as my Pop used to say, “I’m old enough that I don’t hold myself responsible for what others may think!”  I love it.

BTW, first use of the Heliopteris.  Love Maol's splashes but this scent just doesn't sit well with me.  It smells more like a mix of lemongrass and lavender to my nose.  This one is likely to end up on the BST

HoosierShave, I've got 56 grams of Asylum Royal Fougère left. That's just about the same as your Oaken Lab Far Afield. I'll stick with my soap as long as you stick with yours. Deal?

Razor: Timeless Aluminum
Blade: Wizamet
Brush: Rubberset 400/Tuxedo
Soap: Stirling Gin and Tonic on the Rocks
AS 1: Witch Hazel
AS 2: Clubman Gent's Gin
Fragrance:
Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 1,673

I'm finding the Timeless Aluminum to be a mindless and comfortable yet efficient shaver. For an aluminum razor I don'tfind the lightness a big issue even though I've preferred heavier razors in the the past. The Gin and Tonic with menthol is just the ticket for a hot work day here. Have a great day !

You have yourself a deal my friend!

But I will give fair warning, I am attacking this tub with everything I have including blooming, 28mm boar or 30mm synth and a 30 to 45 sec load.  I really don't think it will last the rest of this week
