The day is almost over and I’m just now posting. When I first ran across Leviathan I HATED it. Smelled like a dirty saddle on a south bound camel. Retched stuff! But fast forward a few years and I was in a shop with my brush maker son who was delivering some brushed and as he and the gent conducted business I sniffed soaps. Just to remind myself how revolting Leviathan is, I uncorked a jar and……..wow! I craved it. The coffee came pouring out and it smelled of rich leather. Either Covid changed me or my tastes matured because I put the cap back on and gave the man my money. I’m not a coffee drinker but my childhood is rife with memories of diners filled with cowboys and always two big glass carafes of coffee brewing on a Bunn coffee maker. In fact, would it not raise eyebrows I’d get a Mr Coffee and brew a pot each morning just for the smell. The label is weird and I’d assume a leviathan soap to have aquatic notes but I’m not complaining. This scent undoubtedly isn’t for everyone. In fact it might be as polarizing as Midnight Stag from Chiseled Face but it suits me just fine.
