Does mumtaz not smell like Aether? I find both the scents similar with an overwhelming ginger note.

Im not sure what Aether is but yes heavy ginger type note that I think is meant to come off as a rare citrus bomb.  But it doesnt take too long for it to mellow out I found, and the base notes to come through.  Its a nice uplifting type of scent I think.  Although some of the scents he listed dont come through for me at all like leather, iris or vetiver.

The only note I pick up from Mumtaz is leather.  I've only used it a couple of times so we'll see if anything else shines through in the future.

All I get from Aether is peppermint with some support from other notes.
Ousia is nothing like that.
Just my nose, YMMV.

You know it's funny what some people pick up in fragrances.  My wife wears Mancera Juicy Flowers and all my nose can smell is this metallic synthetic note and nothing else but she can't smell it at all.

I just found Aether its another soap of his.  I bet its that citrus accord that you're picking up on.  Probably ginger mixed with other citruses too give it that fizzy affect.

Oh yeah, it’s been a minute.  This morning was a soap that showed up on my step unexpectedly.  Hoosier knew my love of Salters French Vetiver and as mine is not long for this world and he didn’t care for the lather, he shipped it on to me.  Included in the box was a tub of Hendricks Classics Emperor Oud,  one of le Pere Lucien Phoebus Lilas, and the Salters skanky goodness.  I tried LPL back when it was the rage and found a soap that seemed to defy logic in that it never bubbled because it wouldn’t lather so…….I chucked the soap and my guitar picks reside in the killer stainless container.  When they made a new base I just never tried them so this gift box was a treat and……LPL lathers just fine.  It’s not the glossy lather Hoosier seems partial to but it’s slick enough and dense enough that my whisker whacking was really nice.  The scent is floral but not feminine but I sure don’t get lilac from it.  Glad to know LPL is repping the French brand just fine now.  Thanks Hoosier!

Caswell-Massey - Newport cream

Aquatic, not far off Cool Water by Davidoff, but with more shoreline.

"Caswell-Massey introduced Newport in 1890, named for the Rhode Island resort destination where the company was founded in 1752. America's first "seaside" cologne is known as an uncompromisingly refined, aristocratic, and elegant men's fragrance that remains distinctly American."
