How is the scent on mumtaz? Citrusy or something else.

Oh, geez. You probably couldn't have picked a worse guy to ask about defining scents.

Here's a copy/paste of the notes listed by Grooming Dept.
Scent Notes: Bergamot, Lemon, Mandarin, Orange, Jasmine, Rose, Incense, Vanilla, Opoponax, Civet, Tonka Bean, Cedarwood, Iris, Patchouli, Vetiver, Leather, Musk, and Sandalwood.

Like most of Mo's creations, it's very well blended. None of the listed notes jump out individually to my nose. 
My take on it...there is some brightness to it, most likely from the first six scents listed. The remaining notes ground it and provide a lot of depth and creaminess, yet it's not dark and murky at all. Throw some sweetness in there as well. There's a lot going on in this one, and it's just stunning. Definitely a year round scent, and I don't find it to be cloying in the least.  Murphy & McNeil still has some, and offer free shipping, just in case you decide on giving it a whirl.

As our latest literary journey draws to a close, we bid adieu to Robert Louis Stevenson, who has at last drawn his canoe from the tranquil waters of the Oise and returned to the hustle and bustle of civilization. Along the way, Stevenson’s travelogue took us on a delightful tour of Belgium and northern France during the heyday of the Impressionist movement. An Inland Voyage, rich with impressions and insights, was a moving feast for the mind, though some passages proved a bit too clever for this aging reader to fully grasp.

And what of the accompanying soap, Seaforth! Fleur de France? Magnifique! The lather was thick and protective, as easy to create as a stack of pancakes, and the powdery fragrance still lingers on my brush. In fact, I’m hesitant to ever wash it off. This soap was truly a work of art in its own right, a perfect complement to Stevenson’s delightful prose.

I was hesitant, now I’m sold. “Powdery scents oddly make me happy.” 

That pink bottle of Johnson & Johnson baby lotion needs to be replicated in a boutique Shave Soap.

I may have fallen off the DFS Restraint more than I wanted to...a couple new-to-me soaps arrived with Birth of the Cool the other day (and after trying Plague, I decided to take advantage of the sale prices and will soon have all four of the Horsemen in the den )
