You've been rolling out some incredible brushes the last few days...and that sweet collection of brass and copper in the background...oh my!

Wholly Kaw - Man From Mayfair

Wholly Kaw's take on a barbershop scent, and it's a nice one. My nose gets mostly a powdery basil scent. It's one that never gets old and is a departure from most barbershop scents. Always a great choice, especially as we inch towards the spring and summer seasons.

Clay Face
Honolulu, Hawaii
Vétyver série limitée (Martin de Candre)
Shave 28 ・ ≈ 252 shaves left

For the greater part of my years, I shaved with a disposable razor, frequently a Bic or a Schick. In fact, for decades, I scraped at my face without the luxury of any cream or gel at all, entrusting my tender skin entirely to hot shower water and the lubricating strip on the razor. It must have worked well, since I never suffered any irritation.

But now, how times have changed … or have they? Today, after nearly a decade of hefting substantial metal razors, I revisited an unassuming, feather-light plastic disposable, the Bic Twin Select, and took a single pass. The razor was so light I hardly felt the twin blades, sensing only a slight tickle before discovering that the skin was left strikingly smooth. Naturally, I used a quality lather this time. Martin de Candre is particularly well-suited for a light blade, given its cushion is not a mile deep. However, the outcome was more than satisfactory, it was astonishing, and I wonder if I will ever need to lay my hands on a metal razor again.
