Citricuyá (Barrister & Mann) green on green

Blood orange? Passionfruit? Subtle spiciness? Floral notes? … I don’t think so. All I smell is bitter green citrus peels. Imagine you’ve come home with an enormous underripe grapefruit. You rip the rind off along with the bitter white pith and shove it all down the disposal. Then you hit the switch and Whamo! a big blast of fresh mown citrus fills the kitchen. That's what you get with Citricuyá. Clean, very green, and exhilarating.

Tommy, I believe that version (I have it too) is the Excelsior base.
Bouki, do you feel it comes across as bright grassy, too? That's how my schnoz interprets it.

When I was eight, I had a Sunday School teacher who smelled like this. I must have liked her very much, since I always smile when I lather this soap. Apart from harps and angels, what does it smell like? On top it’s quite frilly with lots of citrus and flowery bits, but then the labdanum walks in and with its resinous roar it changes the tone entirely. It’s the tension between the lime and the labdanum that I really enjoy. They hold my attention as I wonder if one will eventually topple the other.

Re: Citricuyá. Yes, TommyCarioca, my tub is excelsior. I don't think this soap has ever been made in omnibus. And yes, Nero, I get tons of green grassy smells mixed in with the citrus. My wife used to scatter citrus peels all across the lawn right before I mowed. This was intended to keep the neighbor's cat out of our yards, since apparently felines don't care for citrus smells. It worked. The cat stayed away. But even better, the lawn smelled great as I mowed and mulched the citrus rinds together with the grass. That's what Citricuyá reminds me of.
