Ethos - Pine (F Base, custom wildcrafted)

With three or four days of growth, I needed some reliables. I pulled out the aluminum RR Lupo, a Gillette Platinum, and some F Base, and scrubbed it in with the Blackland brush.

Had to do my afternoon head shave early.

This Trotter with an L3 knot might be my favorite brush. The handle fits perfectly in my hand and is stunning. The knot by Turn-N-Shave is his least dense yet is very dense (to me), soft, and amazing backbone. Peaches+Sceam is an incredible scent. I was expecting it to be a bit boozier but I still love it. Very beautiful warm peach, amber, and cream are what hits me.

15 out of 10

Does the Peaches+Scream have sort of a sweet ice cream-vibe to it?

Rose has always appealed to me but most rose scents are so artificial as to stimulate a gag reflex.  Either that or  the scent is a perfume rose that reminds you of when an old aunt or grandma would pinch your cheek and bury your face into a moist, powdered, ample cleavage while cooing and kissing the top of your head.  Yuck!   Yep, most roses have none of the appeal of a true rose blossom.  As a kid, a neighbor widow named Phoebe Thomason used to borrow me from my dad to do some yard chores in her beautiful garden.  Her yard was immaculate and each area had a theme.  Yes, she had a more formal rose portion and the blooms smelled heavenly but off to the side of the yard, up by the irrigation ditch, she had two big brambles of rose bushes.  I don’t know the name of the species.  Shoot, I don’t know anyone who would but out here in the west we call them Pioneer Roses.  They grow into big thorny bushes that get scattered around the valley fence rows by birds who eat the rose hips and while sitting on the wire of the fence, pass seeds through.  In fact there is over a mile of fence along Stinson creek that nobody has maintained for decades because the bird/roses grew up into something like an English hedgerow.  I’ve never seen cattle want to try and broach that formidably sweet smelling fortress.  Fire thins them out but they are back before spring turns to summer.  As long as their toes are in moisture they thrive.  The thorns aren’t the rhino-horns of the English rose but are more like a raspberry on steroids.  Wicked.  The flowers are maybe three inches across but when they are blooming they rival the zealous lilac for show.  They come in two colors, yellow and a reddish orange.  Yellow seems the most common by far but when they grow together it is lovely.  Anyway, Phoebe allowed these two bushes to sort of do their thing over on the boundary of her yard and my hay field.  I loved and still do love those roses.  This soap has a very similar scent to those pioneer roses of my youth.  Not heady but light and lilting.

Yes, thanks. I had it before but had burning issues from it (tallow version not that that was the issue. I'm sure it was scent oils) A friend was in Canada and bought it at a store for me. I think this is the vegan version. Amazing scent I missed and just slight tingling so hopefully it stays at a bareable level.
