Barrister & Mann say they took their inspiration for this scent from photos of libraries paneled in teak and mahogany and filled with leather furniture. I’ve spent decades in musty, dusty libraries, as well as a few fortunate days in some pretty luxurious libraries too, but none has smelled anything like The Full Measure of Man. When I take a whiff of this soap what I smell is citrus, vanilla, cinnamon, nuts, and geranium along with the sweet smell of warm sugar. Instead of an image of a magnificent library, I see an old-fashioned sweet shop with warm praline on the counter. Nice, but not really what I came in for.

Man, I love these two scents. The Samhain was just a sample I finally killed. I need to start killing my samples of soap as they are adding up. The Evil Pumpkin is incredible. So much so that I have 3 tubs of soap and 2 bottles of aftershave.

The "fougère is strong" in this one.
