Unlike say Bay Rum, which are all different but mostly enjoyable, rose scents are polar opposite of that for me and I assume it has to do with the high cost of rose scent and the masculinity vs floral that’s rooted in most men. First off, I love to stuff my nose in a garden rose flower and inhale. Roses are right up there with lilacs in the “I like it” category. Thus, I’m very interested in rose soaps. But rose soaps seem to fall into two categories, straight rose, and rose with other friends. Straight rose most often misses the mark for me due to synthetic scent that truly does a deep dive into the bottom of Madams Purse. The best straight up rose I’ve had is the discontinued Art of Shaving rose. Then there are the “manly roses” that attempt to offer a fella the kiss of a rose without your biker buddies ribbing you. This rose is one of those. Rose is certainly a main player but a lot of other notes round it out. It’s a good one like Sir Henrys Kentucky Rain is a good one. Finally we start to see some new roses on the scene. Oh, and the aftershave is light scented as is the soap so I’m free to use the scent of my choice.Nice read and yet another teaser on Kentucky Rain.....

Carpathia is an exciting scent. It takes me to a damp forest with a sweet floral scent in the air Not a bad one and of course, the SW base is excellent as always.
