I hadn't realized they had a bad rap.  It's really a great brush, and you're right about the size.  Works quite well and is quite soft and cloud-like.  Always gives a great shave. As it did here.

Misspoke; not so much a bad rap as fell out of favour as dense backboned knots became all the rage. To my experience nothing so easily whips up a beautiful cushioned lather on even the most difficult soaps as a Kent BK SilverTip
