MWF Fat Tuesday

Last shave with the fat lady for awhile. Pix show puck post load, post scoring-pre.immersion, brush squeeze-lather bubble compression via hands before face lathering.

Note general lack of small pervasive bubbles before face lathering /hydration. Could not show the resultant lather as my hands were too slick to handle the camera.

Le Domino (Martin de Candre) herb garden
Shave 4 ・ 64 g left

This tiny glass cube is packed with Martin de Candre’s Original soap. It smells strong, but it smells good. I'm picking up loads of lavender, mint, and rosemary. Reminds me of my wife's herb garden. All that’s missing are the toads.

BOOK NOTE: It's been forty-five years since I last read The Count of Monte Cristo. I was fourteen or fifteen then, that wonderful age when you can pick up just about any book and enjoy it. You read soley for the pleasure without being too critical of the author and his ways, and when you had a really good book, you limited yourself to a daily quota of pages. Otherwise you'd bolt the whole thing in a few sittings. Over the decades I forgot how to read that way. Searching for significance in every phrase, I missed out on the delight of having a cascade of characters and events just wash over me. So the other day when I picked up Monte Cristo again, I was surprised by how fun it was to simply plow through this fat book. Dumas has larded this tale with a whole host of characters (I can't even hope to keep track of them all), and with all these characters he gives us scads of plots and subplots intertwining with each other into a tangled labyrinth. Baffling? At times. But oh, so much fun.

'Tommy Boy' brings back fond memories of one the highest jumping, most athletic Show Jumping horses in Olympic history.  Thank you for evoking his memory.

I've always wanted to like this scent. I just have a serious aversion to mint.
