I match my soap scents to the weather/season... So I'd better get busy (shave more often than every other day), because Fall is short (or so it seems) in these parts. And I still have a lot of Fall scents (no matter how many den clearances that I've done)... Fall's my favorite "scent season".

So, I brought the 63 into the shower with the Blackland Era even though I wasn't planning on shaving tonight, which I'd normally do at the sink, of course.

I was always iffy with this scent, though it has many fans... but it might have grown on me tonight... And there must be a reason I haven't sold this. Actually, it's the second time owning it. Oops. Must be a reason for that?

Neroli, this is one of my fall favorites. The 63 is a nice hard puck-and her performance is solid. What I like about it is the similarity to Spicebomb. I usually save it for a cool sunny weekend day. Going to roll her out at some point but it is still warm/summer like here in the Republic. Have my 7 day run with MWF ending soon. Enjoy that stuff, it will grow on you like Tabac.

Correct, TC! I used to dislike Tabac, but now I have backups of that.
My issue with the 63 was the plum note, but it's toned down over the years, and now I can focus on all its goodness. Man, without the plum, I can see this rising high in my rank of scents. Delicate nature of perception.

If you tend to like dark musky soaps with some leather notes, this one might be for you. If you like B&M Leviathan, you will probably like this one too. For my taste it is oh so much better.

Agrumes (Martin de Candre) light citrus

“The unparalleled freshness of lemon, grapefruit and bergamot will take you on a journey to the south of Italy during your shave.” Well, that’s what the label promises at least … and it’s not far off. Very light and very bright, Agrumes is just the thing for a clear and warm fall day no matter where you are.

BOOK NOTE: The Count of Monte Cristo, too, starts off on a sunny note. The characters are swiftly drawn but endearing, and thanks to the lavish use of dialogue, the pace is quick and easy. Our hero, Dantès, has just returned to Marseilles from a successful voyage. He rejoices to find his father and fiancée in good spirits. Soon he will be both the captain of his ship and the husband to a beautiful young bride. But trouble born of jealousy lingers in the dark shadows cast by the bright Mediterranean sun.
