Clay Face

Tonka Bean (Ethos) nut cream
Shave 6 ・ 200 shaves left

There’s something calming, comforting, and reminiscent of the first sweater of the season in this simple little fragrance. And Tonka Bean does wonders for a dry, sore face that’s had too much sun.

Absolutely agree on both points, Bouki. As excellent as the F Base soaps all are, my skin says TB is extra special... just like the memories and feelings that its scent conjures up. Centering. Do I have backups?

Razorock soaps get thrown shade on occasion.  I suppose because they are inexpensive they must seem also inferior.  They sure aren’t in the same class as more expensive and elite soaps but for my face they work just fine.  In fact they work better than just fine. A lot of Razorock soaps are made by Tcheon Fung Sing, a company that has been making shaving soaps for longer than most of us have been alive.  I hear, “not enough cushion or slickness” and frankly wonder what the reviewer is talking about.  The only mark TFS soaps fall down on is post shave dryness and what the heck do I care about that?  I’m applying a balm post shave anyway.  I certainly understand that some of us have problematic skin and need additional protection and can well understand why a premium soap is needed but for me and my water and skin TFS works swimmingly.  Saturnia!  Oh my I adore this scent.  It has an amazingly masculine cologne type scent fore but the aft is filled with the crusty, sulfurous scent of a hot springs and boy do I like that!  I had some grandkids with me in Yellowstone park not too many days ago.  It was cold thus the hot water was really steaming.  As we would walk through clouds of sulphur-laden steam I would suck a lungful of that most amazing scent and my kids would gag.  “Grandpa, do you really like that?”  You bet I do kid and for a hundred reasons.  Idaho is a land of fire and I can’t drive anywhere that doesn’t feature a hot springs and many of them are accompanied with stories etched in my brain.  These stories are anchored to the scent of hydrogen sulfide, thus I like the scent. I recall a cold day on the middle fork salmon.  It was raining, almost sleet, and when we hit trail flats everyone in the boats were cold and wet but trail creek hot springs warmed us all back up and gave us enough to continue downriver to camp.  Bear creek has a hidden hotsprings that I’d shuck my camo clothes and soak in while Bowhunting.  Two nude hunting partners in a hotsprings on a cold September day?  Good memories.  I’m still making hotsprings memories every year.  Saturnia reminds me of them all.

That brush is a “happy accident”.  I bought a handle from Farvour Turncraft and he sent me the wrong handle.  He discovered that before the handle got to me.  I have the handle I bought but when the misshipped handle arrived I bought it too!  Bob really does some cool brush handles.
