Oh boy life is busy but I wanted to jump on and share a local artisan soaper who unlike many bar soap makers actually has a shaving soap that wil lather. Bumble and Bleat opened in June and of course features soap made of goats milk and honey. This soap scent is called mountain man and features citrus, cedar, patchouli and pine and pine is the big note. It comes off a bit like pinesol but hey, for a first attempt it’s pretty decent and I’m sure her efforts will ensnare some new shavers. Also sure her offering will improve both in performance and scents. As it is, it’s easy to lather and it’s slick. Post is a little dry but not bad. I’ve used it the past three days.
Today though I went with my good friend Doms Sandalwood and there is no improvement needed here!

Smells a lot like modern versions of Brut – light, clean, inoffensive, and pretty bland. What’s missing is the skank. Makes you wonder why no one has made a soap that smells like the original Kouros (1981). (Probably didn’t need to ask that.)
