It's hot and humid.  The obvious choice for the day:

Picked up a new-to-me soap, Denton Majik, from the Shave Supply about a week or so ago.  Scent is nice with a very "clean" vibe to it.  The scent strength is light (maybe a 3 or 4 out 10) but was present throughout a 3-pass plus cleanup shave.  The soap is semi-soft and reminds me strongly of the MacDuff's soap base.  Loading from the tub and applying to the face is very similar to MacDuff's...it goes on like a heavy glue and takes a little while to smooth out and become "a lather".  The soap can handle a ton of water and once you're done face-lathering you are treated with a wonderful yogurt-like lather.

Yesterday evening I received a sample of two DentonMajik soaps from Marhos24 . This evening I decided to give the Hot Laguna Nights a try. The scent is well mixed and I couldn't begin to place 'notes'. It's probably more of a warm weather soap, but IMO, could easily be used year-round. From their website it is listed as:

Top: Lime-Lemon-Bergamot-Orange-Mandarin Orange-Neroli-Jasmine-Lavender

Middle: Sea Notes-Calone-Freesia-Peach-Hyasinth-Cyclamen-Rosemary-Violit-Coriander-Nutmeg-Rose-Mignonette-Carnation-Brazilian Rosewood

Bottom: White Musk-Cedar-Oakmoss-Patchoulie-Amber-Sandalwood-Vetiver

The scent notes are mid level plus, maybe a bit higher (6.5/10?). The scent gets diluted a bit when lathered, but bounces back strong post shave. I can smell it fairly prominently on my hands and I'm maybe 30 minutes and counting post shave.

It absolutely whips up a slick lather, and it takes a ton of water. Plenty easy to reach a good yogurty consistency. While it might not be my 'best' performer, it's definitely up there as a high end product.

Fwiw- I think this one may be a different base than what Jason HoosierShave used today. It has quite a bit thicker consistency than MacDuff's, and the price is quite a bit higher on their website.

Nonetheless, i'm very happy with this sample. Thanks again Marcus!

OmniBus: the bus, still rolling - Barrister & Mann Bay Rum

I so enjoy this base and version of Bay Rum. Have had a great recent shave run with the 'Bus' : Bay Rum, Taiga, Passiflora, Lavanille, & Paganini's Violin. Royall's Bay Rum has a nice vanilla, dare I say 'egg-nog rum toddy' vibe.

It's definitely a different base.  I bought the Mutton Tallow version.  The website shows most other soaps as the "game changer" base.  I may have to try the GC base after reading your description though
