This powerful jar of soap will banish any notion that lavender is a feminine, frilly scent. Keep Lavender Suprême away from the kids, because it will put hair on their chests and lower their voices by at least an octave. Take a careful sniff and you'll feel like you just shoved your head into a lavender bush, bees and all, and filled both lungs to the brim with the plant’s floral–sappy goodness. Don't look for any lemon or spice or mint. This is straight up lavender and nothing else. In fact this is the strongest jug of lavender I’ve ever smelt, and it’s wonderful.

Omnibus: Barrister & Mann Lavanille

Full disclosure : Omnibus is my favorite soap base. I prefer that low profile/yogurt/okra snot lather - and B&M Omnibus is my jam. I don't however like many of his scent profiles. Bay Rum, Seville, Passiflora and LeGrand Chypre are solid. This Lavanille - oh my. Wonderfully complex - a chocolate patchouli with enough earthy notes to keep it Manly. Some probably get coffee - that is the patch fo'sho'. I love this stuff. Can even shave with it in the summer: it is very intoxicating. Back up jars are in order.

And one last comment - finally found a mate for Creed's Royal Oud. I look old, haggardly, and ugly, but I smell good.
