I decided to give it a try this morning.  Quite possibly one of the most disappointing lathers I've ever had the displeasure to whip up!  Like Nero says, a good lather has no suds.  Well, this certainly isn't going to be classified as a good lather...

The above photo was taken after about 8 minutes of face-lathering.  By the time I took the pic, the lather that remained on my face had dissipated by at least two thirds!  No way I was I putting blade to skin with this #@!%!!!

At this point I was running late for my first appointment of the day having wasted so much precious time on such a disaster of a lather.   So I went the other end of the "quality" spectrum and grabbed the Laugar.  Now this is a lather I'm happy to shave with...

So what did I tell the wife when she asked me about her purchase?  I told her the truth...it's a very nice scent that pairs well with one of my favorite CL splashes.  And that is the truth, just not the whole truth Smile
Looks like others we've seen before. A bath soap maker that tries their hand at making shaving soap. Doesn't always work out.

Last two days have been filled with this wonderful Fougere!  It’s so nice I did it twice.

I’ve been AWOL a lot lately but don’t you ever think I don’t still love you.  Life just really got busy AND during that business I decided to throw on the project of a 1960 Westerner Camper.  Not done yet but I’m getting closer.  Still have to paint a silver accent stripe between the two colors and I need to put a new floor in it.  My bride has already put bedding together and is working on curtains.  Why is she working so hard?  Don’t know.  This is my wee Steelheading trailer.  When she and I go we take the big trailer with AC and a bathroom.  It’ll feel good to get it done but I’ll still be too busy.

Agreed - for  me a hard pass

A solid yes for me and it’s odd but I get very nice lather with it.  One of my favorites.  I do like that scent!

Palm lather today. That always seems to bring out the best in a soap. Something about my old callused claw makes a really good emulsion. Maybe it’s because I don’t mind slapping the bristles pretty hard against my palm. Whatever it is, I got a great heap of very slick lather today.

Finished up again with a dab of Serge Lutens’ Ambre Sultan. Beautiful dry and herby amber that will last until the sun climbs up out of the ocean tomorrow.

Looks like a lot of fun, Matt! I figured you stepped into something big lately. I was hoping it was a trout stream, but this vintage trailer looks like a fine preoccupation too. Good luck with the refurbishing. (Glad to see I'm not the only one that paints his vehicles with a roller.) Once it's done we're all looking forward to plenty of pictures ... with the trout stream in the background!

I agree. Palm lather makes the best lather, though I wish it was face lathering.
