Simply awesome!  Ended up getting a great lather.  More importantly, at least to me for this scent, is that the scent lasted throughout the shave.  Finished off with Stirling's Unscented Menthol Witch Hazel which, on a 90 degree day, really enhanced the BTRC performance with no impact on that great scent!  So very nice that the scent can be taken off my "only on special occasions" list and be used as often as I like.

And thanks again for the samples...once i find my shave bowls, I'll be able to try them out as well.

I've only unpacked a couple boxes so far (and thankfully one of them had an empty PETG jar) but

A shave den tour is in order  Cool

Once I get things unpacked and a little more organized, I can definitely post some pix.  After living the "minimal" lifestyle the past three months, the "den" reorganization may include some purging.

Thanks!  That mug and my grandpa's gear were packed up but I knew exactly where I put that box Smile

Glad to hear it! I shaved with it this morning and topped it off with the Original AOS Sandalwood balm I just got to "make sure" we're close enough across the board.

I purchased this shortly after Bouki had spent several days reviewing the soap.  Although I had a few minor instances of a burning sensation on my cheeks, I never experienced the numbing of the lips

It's definitely "close enough"...there's no denying that!

Fougère (Martin de Candre) fine fougère
Shave 20 ・ 195 g left

With the first full days of summer upon us, it’s finally time to break out the green soaps. Why not start with the best? Set on a foundation of lavender and coumarin, the fougère has yielded countless variations. The fresh herbal scent of the lavender couples well with the creamy toasted vanilla of the coumarin, and between them they admit all sorts of citrus, mossy, and aromatic side notes. Most of us have half a dozen varieties of fougère soaps and at least as many aftershaves. To the diehards among us, this is simply what shaving cream is supposed to smell like.

Twenty shaves in to this jar, and I've used only five grams. At this rate, at least 780 happy mornings await me.

Wow! You coaxed a gorgeous lather out of that soap. I admit, it's not hard to make a thick, rich emulsion with any of Spearhead's soaps, but yours has an especially nice gloss. Glad to hear you didn't feel any numbing, though the heat on your cheeks is disturbing. I didn't feel anything like that.
