TommyCarioca, I'm anxiously awaiting Lip's response since I haven't tried the soap yet.  Plus, he's MUCH better at describing scents than me! But I have used the splash for the past three days and I've been very happy with it.  As soon as I use it, I do pick up the alcohol scent more than anything.  But that dies down within a couple seconds and you're left with that AoS/Fine scent.  I can easily catch whiffs of the scent for a couple hours after shaving.

Dom and his team did a great job recreating the scent.  Is it the exact same?  I can't really say until I get my shave "bins" out of the basement (unfortunately, my sink didn't arrive earlier this week and now they're telling me early next week so it's anyone's guess when i'll have my bath done).  Even if it's not the exact same, I'm stoked to have the BTRC Sandalwood as an option

Clay Face
Honolulu, Hawaii
Agrumes (Martin de Candre) mild lemon
Shave 13 ・ 45 g left

This used to have a huge grapefruity component, but time has not been very kind to the scent. Now several years old, this small jar of Agrumes has lost a lot of its zing. It doesn’t smell bad, just dull. But what it has lost in fragrance it makes up for in performance. This is still one of the easiest lathering soaps in the world.

Martin de Candre - Thu°Rose

It really is an easy soap to get a great shave. I mean, never a nick or hint of irritation... seriously. I still think there's something extra special about the post skin feel (... and SCENT, duh) from Fougere compared to the others.

I have kept the lid off this Rose for about two months (guessing) to kill off the Windex aura that this and most other rose scented soaps exhibit, IME. Seemed to work!

Finished with Brut. Why? Only because I just bought it at the grocery store.

Brush: Knothead Brushworks/Timberwolf
Soap: Summer Break Cannonball
AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
AS 2: Aqua Velva
Fragrance:
Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 1,318

1st use of Summer Break Soaps and their Cannonball. It's a tropical clorine/ozone type aquatic to remind you of the pool with a Synthetic Cooling Agent that gives a great chill and is my preference to menthol as it doesn't tamper with the scent. Here's their description of it:

"Cannonball! is probably the scent we are most known for. It is also easily one of the most unique scents out there. The scent is meant to remind you of a tropical day at the pool.

Notes include: Pineapple, orange, water, ozone, and chlorine.

Cannonball! also contains a synthetic cooling agent.

This will also be the last summer that it will be available for a couple of years as I'm shifting away from seasonal scent releases."

I have trouble picking up the pineapple and orange but I did enjoy the scent. Not saying it isn't there. Just that my receptors weren't getting much of it if any. Glad to have this as it looks like it isn't coming back for awhile and is sold out most if not all places by now.

The Schick Type L5 sometimes called the Paul Revere Injector by the current crowd but not named that originally. I will say this up front, Eric MaineYooper You don't need THIS hard to find and often overpriced model, but you DO NEED an "L" model based on what your preferences seem to be. Definitely a milder shave that did not lack the efficiency the injectors are known for. The longer handle always kept me from buying one of these but if I was completing the alphabet, I figured this was the one I wanted. While I felt like I was shaving with a yardstick it was an effortless shave that yielded GREAT results. I can live with the length and adjusted technique for that. Have a great day Folk !
