What soap/cream did you use today?

BTW, my matching set of Black Tie Razor Co Sandalwood arrived.  dominicr, you guys did a fantastic job on this scent!  Very similar to the AoS version.  Once I start re-stocking the shave den, I'll be better able to compare to the original.  It was very difficult sticking to my MdC Fougere this morning.

Hi Dave

Just curious. The audible feedback on that razor was very loud throughout the entire shave which usually indicates a very efficient razor with a lot of blade feel. Is that so? So knowing that you’ve used one how would you compare the razor to the Stirling SS with the Hyper Efficient plate on it?

Have often found 'loud' razors (even singing straights) to be the result of blade vibration versus efficiency. Of course, a wider gap will typically entail more blade vibration but isn't inherently a by product of efficiency but rather design deficiencies.

Frank, Dan is correct. The audible level may have been blade chatter and while that doesn't always translate to efficient/effective, this was an efficient shave. I wouldn't say it was as efficient as the Stirling but not far behind from my memory. Thanks guys !

This had firmed up in the sample jar, so I spread it out as thin as I could on the inside of another soap's lid and loaded from there. Exploded with crazy slick lather, and easily got to a dense cushion with a minimum of elbow grease. Fantastic scent as I think everyone agrees.

Some years ago I had a sample of this that had already lost its scent, and very happy this one was full bloom.

Interesting. I'm not normally a bowl latherer. And I always load soap from the jar. I just did it this time because this cream sample turned into croap.

But it sounds interesting, and I will have to give it a try soon. Thanks for the tip.
