Notice you often employ 2 AS. Could you expound regarding the philosophy and technique?

AS 1 is basically a witch hazel product, AS 2 is generally a typical aftershave with a scent that has staying power. Overkill?? Perhaps, but it's what I've done for years and has become habit. Some say it's a waste to use both (this could be true) but I ask, why do some aftershaves have witch hazel as an ingredient in their aftershave.

Witch hazel has astringent qualities and a lot of people like that feel. If you search the web, you'll see multiple benefits of WH.
We use it in both our AS bases.

I understand that. Not all aftershaves have it and so I use both which is what I was asked about

Until ETHOS Skin Food, undertook a procedure wherein spritzed witch hazel immediately after post shave rinsing and before AS balm. Worked better than any other product regimen prior to ETHOS. Thanks for the reasoned response

2. I do prefer fatty soaps & the post is incredible. Similar & slightly better than Mystic Waters.

GD Coattail Redux

I’ve had this tub of soap hiding in the garage fridge crisper drawer literally for years and I’ve never used it!  Well, today is the day.  The scent is a marvelous blend of fougere and aquatic.  The aquatics reigns supreme but the oak moss doesn’t hide too much.  Great scent.  But as much as I like Caties scents, slickness is kind of a tricky thing in my hard water.  This is the only soft soap I bloom and I get after it with a well wrung brush and add water very slowly.  Too fast and it goes to…well…bubbles.  Too much water and slickness tanks.  Keep in mind this is the old Caties formula.  The new is easier to dial in for me.
