What soap/cream did you use today?

Ethos DFS Colonia.  The smell of the cleanest of soaps with citrus.

There’s a lot of tobacco in this soap. To me it smells mostly of cigars. And there’s quite a slug of mandarin too. But what’s most interesting are the smells that hover around the edges. I’m getting all sorts of cocoa and coffee and honey notes. Reminds me of eating breakfast in the drugstore when I was a kid. There was a big case of cigars and cigarillos next to the counter where we ate, and those earthy tobacco smells mixed with my hot chocolate and orange juice and toast.

Bouki What nice memories associated with these scents! Now when I travel through the US I seek out these small town treasures that are disappearing--the Five & Dime stores and the drug store soda fountains where they still serve a quick meal. There is something quite reassuring about these small town businesses. The single owner hardware store where the proprietor keeps bins of nails and screws...the movie theater showing Elvis Presley's latest.

The honey definitely comes through for me but I missed the coffee and cocoa.  It's funny you mention breakfast because the 1st time I wore the splash, my sister-in-law came over and said she kept getting whiffs of a wonderful maple syrup scent.  I wasn't sure but suspected she was smelling the AS.  Now I'm even more convinced that is what she was sniffing.  Really can't wait to start using this one again.  Love the scent, the scent strength, and the sillage (thanks to DanLaw for introducing me to a new term and to Google for teaching me how to pronounce it )
