Someone please tell me why this tub of soap has remained hidden for so long?  I bet it’s been a year since I’ve used it.  Perhaps even longer.  I bought this tub at West Coast Shaving on a business trip that flew me into Ontario CA.  It’s probably 5 years old?  It’s the 6 oz pour and the old school formula if that gives anyone a time line.  At any rate La Terre Verte is one of the favorite scents I’ve run across.  The lather is the super high structure Santa-Beard style that used to be the norm before the super-fats took center stage.  Super easy to lather but I find the best for me is to hit it with a wrung out brush and add water very slowly because this soap seems to lose slickness if you try to drench it.  The lather is t a slick as most, but it’s slick enough to protect me.  It doesn’t have the fat post feel of the front runners now, in fact it’s a bit dry and tight.  (But I’m going to use a dab of Shea butter anyway).  But oh that scent.  It’s so strong and great and masculine.  It’s an old school soap for sure and Caties new formulae are better in many regards but for simple shaving enjoyment, a Caties old tub is hard to beat.

Very nice citrusy scent with rosemary. Fun again with this base when married with the Plisson... in part, at least, because I can go brush crazy on my cheeks and not worry about lather flying into my eyes, so a nice base to use when you want a nice face scrub.

Finished with a splash of Arlington (sample), of which I'll DEFINITELY be getting a large bottle soon.

Pretty for a couple days, then the flowers die... And no scent... So not my kind of ornament.
Their only saving grace is that they've spread like weeds on that side of my driveway.

I too wish poppies lasted longer but when they are in showy bloom they are awesome.

They do tend to produce blooms constantly and their season also last pretty long

You must know something I don’t!  I get one bloom of short duration and that is it for the year.  Perhaps I need to change poppy varieties.
