What soap/cream did you use today?

When two legendary shavers like mrdoug and Dave in KY bring out their Greenfresh, you know spring is at its peak. Talk about a perfect scent for this time of the year, when everything is vibrant, bright, and fresh. I take a whiff of this soap and I get a melony sweetness coupled with clean mint and tart lemongrass all couched in a nest of gorgeous green cucumber peels. OK, so it sounds a little like a fruit salad, but trust me, it smells very good, and I'm looking forward to slapping this one around my jowls all summer long.

Looks like warmer weather is headed this way again. Along with heat and humidity, I predict plenty of irritation, even after a careful shave. To keep the burn at bay, I’ll be picking up my cheap plastic razors and lathering nothing but my finest soaps. Expect to see a lot of Ethos for the next six months. When it comes to being kind to my tender skin, Ethos tops my totem pole.

Just got back from a Boston trip with the wife. Fun time. I had to shave, but there is so much to do before the work week begins again, I just randomly grabbed a soap: Razorock WTP Blue Barbershop.

In the past week I've looked at this soap and thought "I should just retire it. It's a cheap soap (~$5) that can't compete with my others" ...

Glad I refreshed my memory! It's obviously not going to go toe to toe with my more elite Soaps (Ethos, Hendrix Classics, etc) but it ain't no slouch either. It works very well, and if properly lathered (drenched), is VERY slick! I had a grand shave and a happy reacquainting with an older soap. Cue the Tim-ism: "Life is good" .

According to Trythatsoap.com the notes are Bergamot, Lemon, Lavender, and Talc. The Talc us very much prominent.

A brushless shave cream, hence the "non-lather" lather shot.  This was a gift from the Mrs and although the scent was decent (reminded me of Stirling's Sandpiper), it wasn't a lot of fun to use.  This morning I was in a hurry and being able to slap on a waxy yet slightly slick goop was more than sufficient for a 1-pass (WTG) shave.
