What soap/cream did you use today?

GD Kairos SE 2022 Omnia - excellent soap, probably best I ever used!

Well that's good news as I have both Omnia and Ousia incoming! Pasion, the initial SE offering, is so very nice I had a hard time resisting the two new ones (Omnia & Ousia) just released. I should create a whole new thread entitled "Damn Fine Lack of Restraint" but then when I get over to read the "Damn Fine Restraint" thread all I see is a bunch of guys bragging, sotto voce, about all their new purchases. Truly hilarious. A second such thread would be superfluous. Moreover, it might be seen as a brazen attempt to muscle into territory now securely occupied by such stalwarts as Dave in KY, Bouki, mrdoug et al. No, not I.

Cheshire (Barrister & Mann) Earl Grey tea

This is my second pot of Cheshire. The first, from 2015, came in the White Label base. I loved it so much, I finished it within four years. For me, that’s some sort of speed record and an indication of true devotion. Cheshire, after all, is my favorite fragrance by Barrister & Mann. Bright, smooth, and friendly, it’s the sort of stuff I’m happy to crack open every morning.

This new tub of Cheshire comes in the Excelsior base. I loaded up on Excelsior soaps last fall, right when Barrister & Mann announced they were shifting all their soaps to Omnibus base. I guess my lack of faith in their innovation was unfounded. After all, turns out Omnibus is truly fantastic. Nevertheless, I’m really glad I got all these Excelsior soaps. Though Omnibus makes a superior lather to anything Barrister & Mann has offered before, it has a butterscotchy side note that I don’t really like. The Excelsior Cheshire, on the other hand, just smells like pure bergamot, clary sage, and patchouli. The lather smells of sweet citrus and warm grassy notes that remind me of hay drying in the sun.

Ethos Lavender

The Sudsy Soapery - Delor de Treget (Supercreamed & Whipped)

Another CL collaboration. Soft, relaxing creamy citrus. Not sure if the creaminess is intended or just from the creamy soap base coming into play, but it's quite pleasant and soothing.

Wonderful Sandalwood.

Recent Omnibus jars need longer curing before shipping. It arrives as a cream, or close. I also get that ‘butterscotchy side note’ Bouki has mentioned. Omnibus is great but needs a little readjustment.
