I had been using small amounts from a sample of House of Mammoth "Tobacconist" because I didn't want to use it up before I got a full tub. I now have a full tub so I thought I would kill off the sample but it was too much and I would have wasted it. I'm not sure if it's obsessive but I had been keeping the sample on my desk so I could give it a quick whiff every so often. To my nose, it's basically perfect. Definitely a top three soap for me.

Fun tip. Rui from The Lathering YouTube channel came up with this idea. When you are done shaving and have cleaned up, take what's left of your soap in the bowl and/or brush and spread it on your dry face. Then, instead of rinsing it off, wipe it off with a dry towel. This leaves behind a coating of the soap on your skin which is full of fragrance and skin foods. I normally don't have much fragrance left behind after lost shave clean up and this fixes that. Once I did this I put a little bit of unscented balm over top and had that wonderful fragrance on my face all day.

Himalayan Heights (Meißner Tremonia) deodar cedar
Shave 19 ・ 168 g left

Looking for a soft entry into a long day, I was happy to uncork this jar of Himalayan Heights in the pre-dawn twilight. Sweet smells don’t work for me until the sun has had a chance to warm the world, so this sap-scented soap hit the spot. It’s flavored with nothing but deodar cedar oil, which strikes me as warm, woody, and slightly bitter with earthy notes shoring up the foundation. The matching balm is a lot stronger, but it fades fast.

One thing I’m fond of in this shaving game is the constant churn.  Something new all the time.  But one thing I don’t like is the constant churn.  Stuff I really like goes away forever.  I have exactly one of Mr. Fines new shaving creams and unfortunately it is not as great as his triple milled discontinued pucks are/were.  This morning was L’Orange Noir, a Terre De Hermes dupe just as is Harris Windsor.  Such a great scent.  This soap is every bit the equal of the Harris soap and very similar in performance as Tabac or Sir Henrys.  So easy to use.

How do you like it?  I had it awhile back and found the scent to be overwhelming.  It gave me a slight headache every time i took a sniff.  The scent was really nice but just too strong for me.
Sounds like the exact reason I ought to get a jar
