The little label on the bottom of this jar suggests I should have finished
Slåtterøy by November 2018. Hmmm. Running a little behind schedule. So you’re probably wondering if this antique soap has lost some of its goodness. Not at all. It lathers just the same as it did on the day I first unpacked it, which is to say, it’s still marvelous. It makes a fairly high-structure emulsion that drinks up plenty of water. And time hasn't altered the scent either. It’s a spicy citrus mix with a pinch of bay. I hesitate to call it a bay rum, since there’s nothing rummy about it. Still, as the label says, it captures the ‘spirit of exotic adventure’.
And I bought today's razor, the Karve
Overlander, because I liked the handle. A cross between a light saber and a wizard's wand, it looks like the sort of gear you'd pack for an adventure. But I may have to ask for lessons on how to use it. In spite of its weight, the
Overlander strikes me as exceedingly mild. One pass barely scrapes off the lather. In fact, even after two passes, there's still lots of bristle left. How are you getting your best results with this razor?
