Gareth was kind enough to include a tuck of Parker blades in my last order from TheShaveSupply and I decided to give them a try this morning. Since it was a new-to-me blade, I loaded the MdC with 40 swirls in order to provide a more "cushioned" lather. The WTG strokes felt slightly rough...similar to a 1st use Kai blade...but the XTG and ATG passes felt really nice. Does the Parker blade work better in the Overlander as compared to the Astra SP? Not for me but others may like it better

Right you are, Lipripper660! Spitfire is a he-manly, splinters-n-all woody scent with sweet notes of leather and oil. To me it smells like a pair of gloves after a morning with the chainsaw. One note I don’t get, though, is tobacco. It’s listed on the label, but I don’t smell it in the tub. How come? Well, there were some troubles with the early batches. Something in the curing went wrong, and the soaps came out smelling strongly of ammonia. My first few shaves were head clearing, to say the least. In fact, I was afraid the lather might peel my skin. Of course, nothing of the sort ever happened. Every shave was a delight. And over the years, that acrid aroma has disappeared. Unfortunately, it took the tobacco along with it. Now you know I’m gung ho on finishing this tub by the end of the month. I've got to keep chipping away at the hoard. But once this here Spitfire is gone, I’m seriously considering ordering a replacement tub just to see if the tobacco makes it into the game this time.
