It’s amazing how long muscle memory persists. Before yesterday I hadn’t touched this DE89 for almost five years. But when I picked it up, it felt like shaking hands with an old friend. We started the conversation right where we left off.

Mild, smooth, but still efficient, Edwin Jagger razors are highly recommended for shavers who are just beginning their journey into the world of wet shaving. For my first two years, this was all I used. I loved it, and I only retired it after it slipped from my hands and the cap stem broke. It took a while to find a replacement cap, but now that everything is back in working order, I remember why I fell in love with wet shaving.

Does anyone want to recommend a VERY fragrant Coconut? I have Holy Black Coconut Creeper and so far it’s been really nice, HOWEVER, I need MORE fragrant coconut

I don’t really get crazy excited about Soap Kit releases, I think the last time I was really looking forward to a software release was Dragonsbeard (still in my Top 3), KanPai, Angel and Beaudelaire

The one I’m currently watching for looks pretty interesting, I HOPE it smells like Bora Bora… the key words for me is  “opens with a strong punch of coconut and lime.”  If there’s a hint of ginger and sandalwood, this should be spectacular

Thoughts?

MONOI DE TAHITI - MAY 2022

Shaving Soap
Aftershaves
Bath Soap (Later this year)
After being at sea for almost a year, we have finally landed on our tropical paradise! Monoi de Tahiti is the scent of the tropics with notes of Ginger, Lime, Coconut, Tiare Flower, Sandalwood and Tahitian Vanilla.

The fragrance opens with a strong coconut and lime punch that settles in with a sweet floral note of tiare flower and finishes with very subtle spice from the ginger. This is a fragrance most definitely fit for the summer months. Get ready to enjoy the white sands and crystal blue waters soon!

Yep, I got in a good morning shower today but due to other commitments this is the first I’ve been able to get to DFS.  Gents, what a fantastic day!  Sleep over with a couple of granddaughters after which their dad and a brother came by for breakfast.  That’s the stuff that makes life worth living.  The brush.  I pulled the knot again and raised it up about three mm.  It’ll be perfect now so I epoxied this one.  At an rate it performed beautifully with the M&M Ouroboros and man I still love that spicy oriental scent.

I too am looking forward to the Noble Otter release. It does sound awesome, imo.

As far as other coconut, I've only used GFT coconut, Mystic Waters Coconut Sandalwood, and Stirling Creamy coconut. Not sure I could recommend one, but I can share my opinion on each fwiw.

GFT is very light... more of a coconut milk to my nose. The scent is fleeting and hard to smell sometimes.

Mystic is very strong coconut, with darker added notes (sandalwood?). It's an awesome soap, imo. It takes coconut and allows it to fit into almost any season.

Stirling Creamy coconut is also strong, and probably closer to a straight coconut scent. Something about it doesn't quite work for me. It's been a while (last summer), so I don't recall what it was, though.

Hope that helps at least a little bit.
