I’ve never tried a Route 66 but the ever magnanimous Tommy sent one in a box.  The scent is awesome but I found d the slickness lacking.  Thought I had loaded long enough to have enough soap but the puck is pretty hard.  Perhaps I’ll bloom it and see what that does.  Any other Rt. 66 pros out there have a word of wisdom for me?  The shave was good even if it was a little hot due to lacking slickness.  This razor will point that out quickly.

I haven't used TOBS in a while, probably a year. TOBS has earned a reputation of being a mediocre product when compared to more recent tallow rich emu milk artisan creations. My mind has somehow adopted this widely accepted verdict on TOBS mediocrity and the tubs were pushed back in the soap drawer with little chances of getting back to the first line. Yesterday I revisited TOBS and was pleasently surprises by both performance and scent - avocado is a great one.
Agreed!

Lip, as I remember, it worked with a hot bloom pretty well. It was a fairly tough puck - i usually hit it with a synthetic as well. Sorry you had a hot shave. I hate that. I had one today as well. I can't shave with an open comb razor. Neck burn EVERY time.

Times change, oddly, even for definitions....  When first learnt of the word 'sanguinarian', it referenced a person prone to battle or hunt but now, with fantasy overcoming reality, it has come to mean something quite otherworldly; apologies.
I had to “Webster” the word and it seemed to fit fine so thanks for the vocab lesson.

May I suggest Oxford
