I chose the MdC out of curiosity to see how big of a dent I can put in the soap. Plus, I highly doubt I'll run out of soap and be forced to sort through boxes to find a replacement

Good advice that I will heed. My favorite all time scent [la aventurra] is airing out and filling my bathroom with its green bitter accord. Marvelous! It is about back to croap consistency. Not to worry as I have 7 backups.(02-16-2022, 03:58 AM)Lipripper660 Wrote:Boukis hardening observation is accurate. Some of the GD soaps may not be cured enough near new release /purchase. The older picks are definitely harder and IMHO better ready for usage. I just delved into a new puck last week. I am a bloomer and the jar became 'soap soup' ....really soft... like a new fresh TOBS cream. I am drying her out and curing my new Mallard pux.(02-16-2022, 03:19 AM)Bouki Wrote: Le Vétiver (Grooming Dept) rhubarb vetiverI’m watching this one. Curious as all get out. 12 to 17 shaves out of a tub means about 2 dollars per shave. That makes Gillette's ridiculously priced multi-blade carts seem reasonable and I got into this hobby to save money. Ok, I lied. Im not really in it for the money savings but as a daily shaver at two bucks a day, sixty bucks a month, $730 per year soap cost, my “fugal” kicks into high gear and no amount of buttery post shave feel would supplant a puck of the Fat and a tub of Shea butter. Sir: you have my attention.
Shave 5 ・ 73 g left
Inspired by HoosierShave’s consummation of Grooming Dept's Verbrannt, I dug out this tub of Le Vétiver, hoping to achieve the same. It’s an easy soap to like. It lathers quick and rich, it smells great all the way through the shave, and the finish is so smooth there’s no need for an aftershave. But at first it was very soft. In fact, my first couple of shaves gobbled up about 8 grams each. Since then I’ve left it alone for a year hoping it would dry and harden. This morning when I uncorked it, I noticed that the puck had shrunk. It was no longer touching the walls of the tub, and it was firmer than before. Loading it was much tidier. I'm pleased with the results and I’m looking forward to getting Le Vétiver on the scale tomorrow after it's had 24 hours to dry.

I’ve recently bought two Mcd soaps. Been using them everyday for about 2 weeks now.
I’m absolutely addicted !!
Can’t believe I never bought them sooner, like…years sooner!
If I had to choose one soap to use forever, it would be MDC Argumes! Stunning.
Looking forward to seeing your lather shots with MDC.
