Apparently there was an update in the Cardinal base a year or so ago, and it's possible we have different variations. Can you send a shot of the ingredients list?

Seriously though, this is one my favorite scents to go along with a great base

yesterday was another "travel" shave.  After spending 5 hours on the road and battling the Chicago traffic, it was nice to get home and relax with a hot shower and shave

Lavender de Luxe (Meißner Tremonia) lavender, cypress, geranium
Shave 3 ・ 91 g left

The addition of Tuscan cypress makes this lavender darker than most. In fact, it gives the soap a smoky feel and brings out the sappy scents in the aromatic herbs. It’s no where as bright as Mike’s Hungarian Lavender, and it’s certainly not as clean. But like nearly all of Meißner Tremonia’s fragrances, Lavender de Luxe is intriguing for its old-fashioned apothecary style. It’s so dark and raw there’s something almost medieval about it.

Odd.  I have no issues in rock hard water.  It’s low structure for sure. More yogurt than lather but it sure shaves.
