Bay Rum (Barrister & Mann) classic bay rum

That will do it for 2021. And Bay Rum isn’t a bad way to put it all to bed, is it? It’s got that spicy holiday vibe, and the lather is certainly something to celebrate. I’m closing out the year with a smile.

2021 was supposed to be all about consumption. Truth is I’ve been knee deep in tubs and tubes and tins for years. I hoped to get through a lot old soap in order clear at least a small path between the bed and the bath. But of course it didn’t turn out that way. Good intentions got re-routed and the big picture went out of focus. By the end of April things had completely boomeranged on me. Instead of cutting back on purchases, I went whole hog into the soap market picking up over 96 new pucks and tubes. That’s over 10,000 grams of soap. How much did I actually use in 2021? About 739 grams. Looks like my incoming was grossly larger than my outgoing. Time to retrench. mrdoug says that in 2022 he’ll lead me down the thorny path of restraint to the bright realm of sanity. The man’s a saint.

I’m a fan of Shannon’s and Indigo Oud is a great one.  Low structure lather that is easy to get to Hoosiers status for creamy shininess.  Slick and protective.  Scent strength is on the very high end of medium.  Top end is citrus and black currant and those notes are brilliant and very present.  Other stated notes are leather, oud, sandalwood and some other things but the citrus/currant and leather/oud are the notes I get and I find it a very enjoyable scent.  The soap is dark and whips into a tan lather that does not stain a brush.  Excellent soap with a very nice scent.

But to flake a notch of bone out was a thump for sure.  But really, what’s the point of skiing though if you don’t point em downhill and let em run?  Rag-dolling is just part of the gig. (And it had to happen right during this most excellent period of deep powder). 50 inches since the 30th at Grand Targhee.

Seriously unbelievable timing. We've been getting like 10 inches per day for nearly 2 weeks straight it feels like. I've been telling everyone that they can thank me for the snow. Like washing the car, then it rains on the way home.

Is crushed a real diagnosis, haha? They have been saying compression fracture... clearly with some fragments nearby in the x-ray.
Ribs are still the worst in terms of pain, though not broken as far as we know.
Need to wear a back/torso brace for 3 months and do PT. No surgery, thankfully. Ski season over. Getting up from laying or sitting is still very painful and difficult and that's the extent of my workouts for the time being. (Don't tell the doc or mom I shoveled the deck earlier.)
