I was browsing The Razor Company website this morning and saw they have a few HC&C soaps on sale...plus another 10% off for post-holiday savings!  It reminded me that I hadn't used HC&C for awhile.  I am still blown away that this is a non-tallow formula!

btw, a new HC&C tub is on its way to the den...couldn't pass up the deal on this fantastic soap!

How is the scent? I like pine but I'm not very fond of "detergentish" takes on this scent (as opposed to lemon which I tend to enjoy in every single possible form including toilet disinfectant).
The scent in my tub is EXTREMELY strong, so much so that I left the lid off for a few days to see if it would mellow out. It did but after having the lid back on for awhile it's back to being really strong. I still haven't used it as it kind of smells like ammonia to me

HSSC/Australian Private Reserve Eclipse
Tallow Base

This is a dark but exquisite, richly scented soap that creates a wonderful lather.  I like it enough to have ordered a second set.  It is quickly disappearing from stockist shelves though you can still find it on special at WCS.

The scent evolves over time, emphasizing leather and musk at the beginning and moving to the secondary notes of tobacco, fig and bourbon. Scented with Russian leather and dark musk, followed by blond tobacco, dried fig, and bourbon with floral notes of carnation, geranium, and lavender. Complexity is the watchword here as the scent notes include:

Top notes: Bergamot, Dried Fig, Carnation, Mimosa, Cedarwood & Carnation
Heart Notes: Cocoa, White Rum, Blond Tobacco, Russian Leather, Narcissus, Pink Pepper, Bourbon Geranium & Lavender
Base Notes: Benzoin, Sandalwood, Civet, Oud, Amyris, Citrus & Black Musk
