mrdougIt was an overfilled tub. Had to look back, but he got more than he was supposed to. That certainly is a nice surprise.

Of course, at this rate he'll need 112 more years in order to kick the bowl. Are you game Bouki ? Can you outlast this soap?

Sorry for the confusion about my measurements, Lesser and mrdoug.

My little soap notes can be pretty laconic. When I write "__ % left," I'm referring to how much of the labeled weight of the soap remains in the container. This label on my puck of Folgefonn says 100 grams, but I bet Jorunn gave me about 110 grams to start off with. And not only are they generous with their portions, Fitjar Islands are also very generous with their time. They helped me out a lot when I wanted a little more information on one of their older soaps. They're my kind of people, too!

Can I outlast this bowl of Folgefonn? What a curious challenge, mrdoug. Let's see if I can't work this one into frequent rotation. It's really a very fine soap with a nice little menthol kick that makes Folgefonn a cool, clean adventure all year round. I'll look forward to visiting it often.

Lol. It was more of a joke, as my calculations have you taking 112 more years to go through that jar. Of course, I hope you are around for that long, as I do so love soap your reviews Bouki.

Keep them coming.

Do keep them coming, Bouki!  And I guess I've got to try to get my paws on some Fitjar!  Interested in the Fjellheim since I really like pine/fir forest scents (my favorite right now is Champlain from Talbots).

Blue Tobacco (Abbate y La Mantia) cool fruity aquatic
Shave 3 ・ 79 g left

If I’m not mistaken, this soap is made by the same company that makes Pré de Provence’s hard shaving soaps Bergamot & Thyme and No. 63. Like them, Blue Tobacco is white, dense, and very hard. It’s also much colder than I remembered it, but then my first two shaves with Blue Tobacco came at the height of a hot, dry summer when nothing feels particularly cooling. Today I gave the puck nearly 150 swirls before my brush looked full. That was too much, of course, but it built a luxurious lather that in turn yielded an excellent one-pass shave. In spite of the name, I don't smell much tobacco. In fact, the fragrance sort of makes me think of a jelly bean slowly dissolving in a puddle of Epsilon Blue.
