Long, long ago I stayed in a place with bath mats made of woven vetiver root. When I stepped out of the shower and placed my wet foot on their prickly surface, they gave off a powerful reek of oil, weeds, and smoke. My callow nose wasn’t ready for anything quite that raw. I remember giving an ‘ugh’ and then rinsing my feet under the tap. That was the first time I smelled vetiver, and the memory stuck. For years, whenever I sniffed a vetiver cologne, all I could think of was that damp and dirty bath mat. Not really the sort of scent I wanted on my face. Luckily, I got past it. How? Slapping Mike’s Vetiver around my chops helped me appreciate all the varied notes that are tucked into pure vetiver oil. It’s a complete fragrance all by itself from its bright citrus top to its dark rooty base. Now I adore it, and wouldn’t you know, I keep a tuft of raw vetiver root in the bathroom and another beside my computer.

I received the Pedro Fiasco soap in the Coconut (with Tonka) scent.
Haven't used it yet but passes the sniff test!
Let me ask you... Did the puck come in completely soaked? Curious if that's the normal for it, or if I had something sitting in the wrong spot in a warehouse.
My is totally normal.
Sorry to hear about yours!

Wow, yeah that is different. Mine was wrapped in paper, and the paper and label were (quite) wet.

Glad it's a good product when done right. Happy shaves.

I’ll give it another go again late Sunday.  This may finally be the SV I like. I haven’t been keen on the few I’ve tried. Anyone use this on the reg?

Tundra Artica is fantastic!  Have you tried Stella Alpina or Flying Mango?  Tundra and Stella are my two favorite SV scents but Flying Mango is a close 2nd
I’m keen on that Flying Mango and I have NOT tried the Stella A. That mango will be in my next round of purchases.  I always get scolded this time of the year for purchases so I’m trying to hold back.  Had to get the Tundra tho and Declaration’s Rose Santal….which is my next post..
Honestly I feel I can shave months with Arctica Thundra and use sharpest blade possible with such a nice glide plenty of cushion and that slickness is Superb Happy2 I have my in SV Wooden bowl and it gives such a nice unique scent and pleasure to lather with..I don’t know what it is lol but that wooden bowl is there for reason or is it just me.

Again this whole thing was send to me as gift and my friend told me oh you’ll like the SV soap I really didn’t care for it till I truly realized how good is actually..

Glad you like it and it’s my top pick of all soaps I tried  Happy2

Yes it did!  It was weird...kinda like it had overheated/melted and soaked the wrapping and label.  Did you order one as well?
Missed your response HoosierShave , sorry. Looks like you got one like I did. I wonder if they switched something up to keep it from happening, considering Nero got a good one. Either that or just luck of the draw. For the sake of future purchasers, I hope they did make some changes.

Like Nero said the other day, having a lot of shaving stuff is great fun … until it’s not. For nearly eight years I’ve been sorting through heaps of soap, shuffling through boxes of razors, bumbling through a jumble of brushes almost every day – it gets to be a little distracting. What I’m trying to say is, it’s time to give it all a rest, at least for a little while. Instead of constantly rotating through all this gear looking for the optimal arrangement, maybe I’ll just stick with the kit I used today. The razor is mild, the brush is trusty, and the soap lathers under nearly any conditions. Let’s hope this gentle set up will help me focus entirely on technique.

(Don't worry, though, resolutions like this never last long with me. I can still hear the siren song of all those fantastic soaps I've packed away. It won't be long before my will is broken.)

I think it definitely gives hope for others, Nero.

As a point of reference, mine was quite a while ago... Sometime in October? That could mean they've revamped their packaging, which would save other from my fate.

I kid you not when I say it was soaked and the consistency of soft butter. Absolutely atrocious. Not sure where it got in this condition - A&E or The Razor Company. Either way, it's good to see they may have remedied the issues.

Thanks!
