A shavers lament:
Oh, Trumpers!  in 1875, the same year Tufts and Harvard played the first college football game, Joe Borden pitched the first no-hitter, Captain Matthew  Webb became the first person to swim the English Channel, and BYU University was founded in Provo Utah, George F. Trumper, a skilled barber and master perfumer started business.  For much of that 146 year history you enjoyed the fruits of ol Georges labor and in fact fashioned a crown of exclusivity that we customers firmly planted on your brow.  But somewhere along the way you decided to allow some young fresh-from-Oxford business major make decisions that to the board of directors might have made a lot of sense.  Alas, like many other business’ though, you fell in love with your processes and out of love with your customers.  You began to focus more on where you were going without using the rudder of “where you have been”.  The result is a soap, that like biblical salt that has lost its savor, that has become worthless for shaving but is only good for a hand bar.  Oh how the mighty hath fallen!  Oh Board, hear the weeping of thy people and repent and once again turn thy hearts to a formula that will polish thy tarnished crown and we thy people with once again seek refuge under thy protective wing.

Ok, enough of that!  I still have 4 pucks of Trumpers in the Potassium Palmate formula that lather like a dream.  Eucris to my nose is one of the finest scents on this planet.  But my goodness, the lather disappears like scantly clad women at a Vegas magic show.  So until Trumpers apologizes, admits they are building crappy shaving soap, and once again realizes that they need to focus on what opens customers wallets and not how to save 10cents a puck, I am through.  I am very sadly done with you, even though I know other products of yours may work marvelously well.  I’m done, even though you make Eucris in perfume form.  I’m done because people like me write and share our sadness and you send back a response trying to convince me that my experience is an outlier; that others are not reporting piss-poor performance.  I don’t leave out of some sense of bruised pride but a sadness that one of the great scent houses has chosen to double down on a poor decision rather than to turn back to what was working.  Floris has shown you how it’s done!  Salters has proven a good hard shaving puck can be sold out of England.  Harris has shown that caring for customers AND watching costs doesn’t have to mean duping a consumer into a sale based on your reputation.  Am I too harsh?  This morning I tried for the last time to get your Eucris puck to shave and even used the Karve razor with a C plate (mindless shaving at its finest) only to have to use the alum block to close three weepers.  I don’t even recall the last time I was able to count three weepers on my leathern face.  Nope, not too harsh.  I did my part.  You did not do yours.  My wallet has officially forgotten how to spell Trumpers.

It is one of my best.  When I found out they are discontinuing the soap I purchased a few refills.  Glad I did.

Old Vulfix Sandalwood cream

Have had this for 6 years - still very moist and creamy. Great product & packaging to keep her compliant.... with a strong Sandalwood scent still in the soap! Slick and easy to lather - better performance than TOBS. I think - correct me if I am wrong - old Vulfix was manufactured by or for Salter's?

C U all tomorrow
