What soap/cream did you use today?

After spending some time with Barrister & Mann’s low-structure Omnibus base, coming back to this tub of high-structure Glissant is a surprise. Don’t get me wrong. I really like Glissant. It’s slick and lovely to look at and always gives me a good shave. But now it feels as light as fairy floss compared to the bulky, snotty mass of Omnibus. Hard to tell which finishes better. They both leave my hide feeling brand new, like I just came howling into the world.

And thanks to AQU, who a few months ago encouraged me to stick with the Henson razor. I've been fiddling with the slopes and angles lately and finally it all clicked. When I keep the handle close to my face – much closer than I do for other razors – this little lightweight scrapes as well as, or better than, most of my heavy razors. At last I'm getting premium one-pass shaves.

Do we know why there are two brand names (and two websites)... Particularly when one is called The Club and you don't need to be in the club to purchase those items? (And there actually is a club.)

Does this annoy anyone else? Or am I too Type A?

Nivea Sensitive Shaving Cream

Ethos Grooming Lavender Supreme shaving soap. It is soft, more of a croap than a true hard soap, and I prefer harder ones that I can load directly from the container. But it makes wonderful lather and has a great scent, not too sweet or too 'muddy.' It and vintage C&E lavender are my two favorite lavenders.
