What soap/cream did you use today?

I admit it--I am a sucker for Murphy & McNeil marketing particularly when it features a bald Irish Pirate Queen. Their latest Kodiak release is Granuaile and the label shows Grace O'Malley with a full head of red Irish hair.

There is history here as described by M&M: "When Grace O'Malley was young, she begged her father to join him on his seafaring expeditions. He declined, explaining that her long red hair would get caught in the ropes. The next time he saw her, the hair was gone and she was on her way to becoming one of the most fierce women in Irish history. "Bald Grace," or Granuaile (gran-ya-wail) was how she would become known throughout history. For decades she was the pirate queen of Ireland, plundering the seas, fighting the English, and even meeting Elizabeth I in her bare feet and dressed as an Irish Chieftain.

Granuaile is dedicated to this legend. Featuring notes of gunpowder, white leather, aged oak, and ocean aquatics are meant to bring you back to a different time of gritty battles on the high seas."

The Yank in me loves when the Brit aristocracy bleeds, better blood than money but one takes victories where they occur. If only it weren't at the hands of the Irish...anybody remember the pivotal scene in 'Blazing Saddles'?

The Shave Supply currently has CF Loyal on sale.  Since I had never tried the Silk and Tallow base, I decided to pick up a tub...along with a Rockwell 6S stand that was also on sale

For those of you who enjoy (or maybe despise) P&B Spitfire, the scent of Loyal will be very familiar to you.  Loyal doesn't seem to have the same type of "umpphhhhhh" that Spitfire packs and is a little more subdued.  Overall, a great shave with a wonderful (to me, at least) scent.  Paired up very nicely with Stirling Texas on Fire witch hazel and The Holy Black Gunpowder and Spice splash

TOBS Grapefruit

An oldie today in Mikes Lime.  Had this puck kicking around for about 4 years now and it still smells like lime and it still performs flawlessly.  I needn’t explain the Mike’s Natural experience as most of you have multiple pucks.  I will say it likes synthetic, boar, and badger knots just fine a d I whacked it around with a most awesome boar from Heritage Collection.  Best boar knot I have ever owned by a wide margin.
