Picked up this vintage puck of Palmolive around Houston Tx years ago and have used it just a few times.  Zero scent so Covid seemed to be a great time to revisit it.  Look, it may not have all the butters, emollients, or face food of the current offerings but our Grandpas didn’t suffer for lackluster soap either.  Serviceable and nice I would say even if there are no shooting stars.  Can’t help believe it would be better fresh either but who can say?
And that old Old Spice Mug!  Love it.

Lipripper660, did you pick up a new razor when you were in Phoenix the other day? I've been curious about these Rex Supply Ambassadors. How do you like the shave?

Love the shave.  I find it very similar to the Gillette adjustable s except much better build quality and weight.  Seems smoother than an old Gillette which are pretty smooth but it ought to with machin8ng vs stamped metal.  The razor is not mine but my sons on loan and I’ll goof with it some more  but this first shave would put it into the keeper category.  Started it on lvl 1 which was way too mild.  Moved to 3 and stroked on.  Very close two pass shave.  I’ll goof the next couple of days with the dial but it seems to be on par with Gillette’s adjustments except more precise.  Opens like a Merkur 34C but functions like a slim.  Feels very nice in hand.

Thanks, Lipripper660! If it weren't for the price (and the fact that I have thirty other razors), I'd scoop one up. This one may have to go on my "what to do with my windfall" wish list.

Schnoz still not picking up much scent? I read somewhere that it takes about three weeks for many Covid sufferers to get their sense of smell back. Keep us updated on your progress. I hope all the other symptoms have calmed down and that you're feeling good again. Sorry about the quarantine. That's got to be rough.

the Rex is one of my top 5 razors...absolutely love it on settings 3 to 5!  I found it shaves amazingly well if you keep the razor more parallel to your face rather than perpendicular.  Goes great with an Astra SP.

I read reviews of the non-tallow Tabac simply not being able to perform.  Honestly, for me, the lathers really aren't bad.  Do I prefer it to the tallow-version?  No.  But the non-tallow is more than serviceable...
